The 2009 Avalon Pumpkin Chucking Championship

Saturday, November 28th

Why not do a bit more than just fling or sling as the case may be, the pumpkins into the scrubby area on the far end of the front lawn and then let nature take its course?

Lets have a competition thats both fun and requires strategy where you have two types of targets, one vertical painted into the ground in concentric circles (like a bulls eye) and the other horizontal on a piece of plywood or rectangle of fabric.

It would be like using pumpkins as vertical or horizontal horseshoes! Also, we could have several types of contests such as firing for effect, the closet wins. Another one would be firing for well aimed shots, the most amount a team can do in let's say thirty second, one minute and two minute intervals. Kinda like what is done down the road at the N-SSA's Fort Shenandoah in Gainesboro, Virginia.

breast cancer walk

Join us on October 10 at 2:00 PM for a 2 mile breast cancer walk to benefit the Susan B. Komen charity. There is an option to stop at about the 1/2 way point. The suggested donation is $ 15. First visit over Labor Day weekend

I'll be making my first visit on September 5th (day visit only). I have privately lived a nudist lifestyle for the past few years but this is my first visit to Avalon or any CO resort, for that matter. I'm looking forward to my visit but somewhat nervous at the same time (naturally enough, I suppose).

Looking forward to meeting others and closing out the summer in style!

My wife and I will be coming down to visit on this weekend (Aug. 29/30) and I'm bringing my "laptop" telescope down again. If the weather cooperates I'll have the scope out on the patio behind the Dining Room after dark on Friday and Saturday.

Avalon Fest '09 was a huge success!

A lot of great folks came together this weekend at Avalon for wonderful music, good food, and nude fun. The weather could not have been better for an outdoor music festival.

The fine staff of Avalon Resort did a terrific job of taking good care of the festival-goers, providing event security, lodging services, food and drink, and everything needed by the huge crowd for a great time.
The dance in the field-house Saturday night was a blast!

All the wonderful Avalon staff-members deserve a big thank-you for doing such a fine job, especially Avalon general manager Bob Smith.
